FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are you considering applications for a PhD student next year?
We are considering admitting a new graduate student this year. Please note that we have a policy of treating all candidates equally before the admissions process, and out of fairness, do not give individual advice over email, in person, or on the phone. You can find detailed application information on the department website, and detailed information about what we are working on here on the lab website. Once a student has been admitted, we invite them to campus for a visit, and they have every opportunity to ask questions, have conversations, and explore the program. We prefer that you not contact members of the lab in advance of the admission process in order to ensure that all applications have an equal opportunity to be considered.
Are you taking on high school interns or volunteers?
We are not currently taking on any high school interns or volunteers to help with work in the lab.
I’m a student at Princeton. How can I get involved with the lab?
We offer an introductory class, MUS/PSY 248 Music Cognition, most spring semesters. You are also welcome to sit in on our lab meetings; please send an email to request the schedule. We usually have several RA slots available each semester. Students typically start by enrolling in the class and/or sitting in in lab meetings, then join as an RA, and then potentially do independent work, a JP, or a senior thesis in the lab. We can serve as the primary independent work advisor for undergraduates in Music, Psychology, and Neuroscience, and as the secondary advisor for students in Computer Science.
